Not many people know that the great Frank Thorne followed the iconic golden age SUPERMAN artist: Fred Ray, in the late sixties run of the action-adventure series, Tomahawk. Here Thorne recreates Fred Ray's original 1951 cover to Star Spangled Comics #117. The art is rendered in ink with watercolor and has an image area measuring 10 by 14.75 inches on 12.2 by 17.2 inch thick art board and is signed in the lower right.
