Wally Wood is one of the most acclaimed comic book artists of the 20th century, was paired with the most popular Marvel super-villain for this issue. This title splash to the Doctor Doom story "Revolution!" appeared in Astonishing Tales #2 (1970). A full-figured Doom in a regal pose is expertly depicted by the legendary Wood on this full-page splash. Along with his perennial arch-enemy status link with the Fantastic Four, one of the things that made Doom so fascinating was that he was also the ruler of his own country, a small European nation known as Latveria. In the story featuring this title splash, some of the residents of the country stage a coup in the name of their beloved Prince Rudolpho, who Doom ousted so he could take over as ruler of the nation. Needless to say, Doom is displeased, and this full page splash showcases him plotting revenge on the rebels.
