Check out this very nice 1976 Historic Very First Published Spider-Man Newspaper Pinup, which was drawn by the greatest Spidey artist of them all.......JOHN ROMITA SR! This very detailed Pinup features a nice large image of Spider-Man in a great pose in side of a 4 cornered web design which was also all very detailed hand drawn by John Romita as well! This great piece right here was published NUMEROUS TIMES. First it was published as the HEADER CARD ART for Newspaper machines in late 1976 promoting the all-new AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Comic strip which first came out in the newspapers on January 3rd, 1977. This same image was ALSO published as a full page NEWSPAPER Ad on Sunday January 2nd 1977, in all major newspapers across he USA to promote the Amazing Spider-Man strip which debuted the very next day January 3rd. (An original copy of the New York Daily news ad hand signed by John Romita and pictured in the extra red link above is included with this great art. Also included with this art is an original color proof for this art which is also hand signed by John Romita Sr as well as an original HEADER CARD which was used for THE St. LOUIS BEE Newspaper machines in that area of the country, also hand signed by John Romita Sr! all these can be seen next to the original art in the extra red link above. This great art was also published AGAIN in 1977 as the back cover to Marvel Treasury Edition #14! This is quite the historic piece if you ever want 1 "AMAZING" PUBLISHED John Romita "BRONZE AGE" Spider-Man image to frame and enjoy for many many years without spending for a JOHN ROMITA AMAZING SPIDER-MAN COVER! Heck....It probably took John Romita several HOURS just to draw the amazingly detailed WEB BORDER alone on this stunning published piece. DRAWN image area measuring 14.3 by 10 inches on much larger art board, which is signed at the bottom! Just a neat piece of history right here, by this ICONIC Spidey and Marvel artist! ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to mikeburkey@aol.com and we can try to work something out.
