From the early stretch of MAD's switch from a 10-cent funnybook to a 25-cent (cheap) magazine and just 1 issue after ALFRED E NEUMAN makes his very first appearance, We have this masterful piece of art from the Harvey Kurtzman written and Wally Wood's sarcastic story about the building of the ideal house. (This piece lampoons a big-time Hollywood movie of 1948, Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. and this spoof story is titled: "How the Countersunks built their not-quite-so-dream house") Few artists have used Duo-Tone board as effectively as Wood, and here the results are downright photo-realistic. Ink over graphite drawn edge to edge on 10.2" x 4.5" Duo-Tone stock board. Signed at lower right margin also. This art was used for the top 3 panels but there were slight changes for the latter 2 panels this was used for. ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to mikeburkey@aol.com and we can try to work something out.
