Overstreet Price Guide #15 Concept Painting & Comic Book Marketplace #31 Cover

Golden Age stalwart CC Beck constructed this beautiful art between The Golden Age Daredevil (on top of the Statue Of Liberty) getting ready for battle with the Yellow Claw, as a proposed cover design for The 1985 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. The art here is a nicely finished painting in itself, with a cinematic vantage from atop the Statue of Liberty. The larger version was ultimately passed over in favor of a Marvel Family-related Beck published price guide cover. The very similar finished Daredevil illustration for this piece saw print in Comic Book Marketplace #31 in 1995 (which can be seen in the extra red link above) This splendid tribute to Jack Cole's seminal Golden Age characters was created on 7" x 9.8" art board and is signed by CC Beck at the bottom.
