Witches Tales #18 Cover (GREAT 1952 HORROR COVER!)

Check out this classic horror cover here by the legendary Lee Elias from 1952! From The story "Bird of Prey!" We see aman at the ledge of a cliff as the giant claws of the gigantic bird come to kill the man! Created in ink over graphite on oversized 12.75" x 17" Bristol board composed of different sections (the masthead section, and then the original art section, with an added bit of board below that to make the full image size). This cover is all drawn artwork other than the word balloons, and there is beautiful artwork underneath the logo as well. The logo interestingly was taken directly from the cover art for Issue #10 (as evidenced by the issue number itself, and the whiteout covering where a man's hand crossed over the "LE" on the Witches Tales #10 cover art) There is some whiteout with additional art to blend the sections together, but just a great 1952 horror cover from the days when E.C. and HARVEY ruled the horror comic book market!
