The Walking Dead #3 Cover (DALE KEOWN GREATNESS!) 1989

Check out this very nice HORROR cover, which was penciled, inked, and hand colored by the great Dale Keown! More than a decade before Robert Kirkman launched his insanely popular "The Walking Dead" title for Image Comics, writer/artist Jim Somerville created a short-lived series for independent publisher Aircel that was also called "The Walking Dead". Dale Keown, right before he broke out as a superstar artist on Marvel's Incredible Hulk series, drew this cover for issue #3 of the series, which came out in 1989. It features the horrific scene of a zombie about to chow on a woman's bloody finger. Keown created it in ink and tonal marker on board with an art image of 11.2 by 17 inches.
