Check out this INCREDIBLY HISTORIC 1970 art, which was originally drawn for the first 2 panels for The House Of Secrets #92 splash, which were penciled by the great Bernie Wrightson! These 2 panels feature incredibly detailed images of Swamp Thing's lower body in panel #1 and his head and arms in panel #2! Initially...Wrightson was thinking of having 3 similar panels across the top of the House Of Secrets #92 splash. He realized it wouldn't work so he decided to not use these 2 panels you see here as he wanted the 3rd panel to be BELOW the top 2 panels (instead of 3 side by side panels) with Swamp Thing walking through the woods.. Most people don't realize that the COVER to house of Secrets #92 was drawn a full year "AFTER" THIS ICONIC first appearance STORY WAS DRAWN! This great art piece was GIFTED from Wrightson to artist friend and fellow STUDIO artist: MIKE KALUTA in the 1970s, and Mike Kaluta wrote above the 1st panel with some GREAT storyline blurbs where he wrote: "REJECTED FROM SPLASH OF BERNI'S 'SWAMP THING' DONE FOR DC COMICS. I PLAY THE VILLAIN - BERNI THE HERO/MONSTER, WEEZIE JONES: THE WOMAN IN BOTH OUR LIVES!" (Weezie was Jeff Jones' wife who later became Louise Simonson) In Panel #2 Bernie Wrightson wrote Above the drawing: "TO MIKE (Kaluta) BECAUSE HE DIGS IT. BERNI WRIGHTSON '70. This art measures 7 by 6 inches and was drawn on DC art board in 1970. Compare these 2 great panels in red link above to the similar published House Of Secrets #92 comic book SPLASH!
