Check out this very nice 1967 cover pencil prelim for the published painting to 'Conan the Usurper', which was drawn entirely by the great Frank Frazetta! This nice art features Conan in a classic kneeling pose, with a skull on the ground next to him, as a giant serpent gets ready to grab Conan from behind! Art is drawn on 9 by 12 inch manila drawing paper, with the main image measuring 4 by 6.25 inches with various partial images of a knife, a hand, and other pencil lines drawn on the 9 by 12 inch paper. Conan the Usurper is a 1967 collection of four fantasy short stories by American writer Robert E. Howard and L. Sprague de Camp, featuring Howard's sword and sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian. Most of the stories originally appeared in the fantasy magazine Weird Tales in the 1930s.
