Violet first appeared in the February 7, 1951 Peanuts strip as just the 5th character ever! (after Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Shermy and Patty) This strip was just 2 years into the strip! Violet was the number one nemesis for Charlie Brown from 1951 through the early 1960s when Lucy got older and became his #1 nemesis! This strip is QUITE RARE in that it is one of the first and possibly the "ONLY TIME" that Charlie Brown actually got the BETTER of VIOLET in the strip, as we see Violet yelling at Charlie Brown, telling him in the first 3 panels that it's "MY SANDBOX" that they are both playing in, and Charlie Brown must do whatever SHE SAYS! Charlie Brown is in great full body poses in EVERY panel with Violet, as he Finally has had enough of her, and in the last panel we see that he has poured a huge garbage can-sized mound of sand over violet's entire body as her eyes are the only thing showing through the huge sandbox pile while Charlie Brown then walks away victorious! Just an ICONIC "EARLY" 1950s strip here folks barely 2 years into the series. Strip is drawn on 29" x 6.6" art board and has the customary fold in between panels 2-3 like every strip for the first 40 years had on them before they went to 3 panels and shrunk the size down in the 1990s! Just a neat piece! ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to mikeburkey@aol.com and we can try to work something out.
