Skilled collaborators Rich Buckler (pencils) and Joe Sinnott (inks) teamed up on this Page 1 Title Splash to Avengers #104 from 1972, spotlighting mutants introduced during the Silver Age X-Men run. It features the Avengers' mutant speedster Quicksilver racing away from a looming Sentinel threat while carrying Larry Trask, the son of Bolivar Trask, who first created the mutant-hunting robots back in X-Men #14 in 1965. Larry, who also turned out to be a mutant, was introduced back in X-Men #57 in 1969. The Sentinel head shown here is symbolic of the threat the Sentinels pose. ***SIGNED BY STAN LEE ALSO!**** Compare this great splash page to the published comic book splash in the red link above.
