The only 2 covers that would rival this would be if Joe Shuster recreated ACTION COMICS #1 cover (The First Superman) or if BOB KANE recreated DETECTIVE COMICS #27 Cover (The first Batman) and I believe neither artist ever recreated these covers in exact detail such as this historic piece right here! This cover was SPECIFICALLY drawn for the 1994 SOTHEBY'S auction and is drawn to the EXACT DIMENSIONS as the ORIGINAL COVER ART to AMAZING FANTASY #15 which measures 13 by 19.25 inches on a larger board! Jack Kirby drew this cover to the EXACT DETAIL of the AMAZING FANTASY #15 cover artwork! This piece is BEAUTIFULLY matted in white with a nice cut out from the matt which shows Jack Kirby's vintage signature! This cover was then framed in a beautiful black frame under glass and has an overall framed size measuring 23 by 29.5 inches! To help authenticate this piece as being all Jack Kirby drawn art, there is a copy of a page from the Comics buyers guide from the mid 1990's SHOWING jack Kirby actually DRAWING this MAGNIFICENT Cover! And there also is an 8.5 by 12 inch CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY (From Sotheby's Auction house) attached to the back of the frame which has signatures on it from ROSALIND KIRBY, as well as a MARVEL representative, and a SOTHEBY'S representative from June 17, 1994, (just before the public auction took place in New York City) SADLY, Jack Kirby passed away on February 6, 1994, just 2 months after drawing this GREAT cover. So he never got to see his Wonderful cover sell at auction on June 18th of 1994. Also included with the sale of this AMAZING piece, is a color photograph of Jack Kirby smiling while sitting at his artist drawing table with this AMAZING FANTASY #15 COVER ART completely finished as it sits on his drawing table! What a great piece of memorabilia to have.... this detailed photograph of Jack Kirby with HIS VERY LAST COVER! As most people know in this hobby, the COMPLETE PUBLISHED interior artwork to AMAZING FANTASY #15 was anonymously donated to the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS in late April of 2008.
