Check out this very nice SILVER AGE 1968 SPLASH page, which was penciled by the great Gene Colan, and inked by the great Dan Adkins, from the story titled: "Never Bother a Barracuda!" This nice splash page features Karthon the Quester getting away with the mystical Serpent Crown in the background with a large, dramatic shot of the SUB-MARINER. This was the Serpent Crown's second appearance, having first turned up in the previous issue. The bewitched crown was linked to the malevolent seven-headed exiled serpent demon-god Set, from whom it drew its eerie powers. Any wearer of the crown pays a steep price -- falling under the mental domination of Set, who then commands the wearer to perform feats which would help bring about its unwelcome return to our Earthly realm! This issue told the origin of the Crown, and it would go on to become a major item of power in the Marvel Universe. The splash page has an image area of 10" x 15". on 11 by 16.5 inch art board, Signed by Colan in the top right image area! SILVER AGE Marvel Super hero SPLASH pages are VERY hard to find in the hobby these days, so don't miss out on a great opportunity here to own a nice SILVER Age 1968 Sub-Mariner SPLASH page!
