Marie Severin was a standard colorist and bullpen artist for EC Comics in the 1950s. She produced the color for this original story in Impact #1 in 1955, so it's no surprise she was tapped to produce the color work AGAIN for the high-quality reprint in the 2002 Fantagraphics collection. This story is considered by many to be THE GREATEST STORY EVER CREATED FOR EC COMICS IN THE 1950s! The original art for this 8 page story sold at auction for $600,000 in 2018. This lovely hand-painted color work is a more affordable "second chance" for you to own a COMPLETE 8 PAGE "COLOR" version of this VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT important comic book story. This lovely work was crafted in gouache on printed black line art on textured 11 by 15 art board as this is drawn much larger than normal color comic work. The page 1 SPLASH in Signed by the late great Marie Severin in the lower right of Page 1. Click the extra 7 red links above top see pages 2-8! ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to mikeburkey@aol.com and we can try to work something out.
