Check out this very nice 1988 AVENGERS cover, which was penciled by the great John Buscema, and inked by the great Tom Palmer, from the story titled: "The Fate Of Marrina!" This action cover features The Avengers [Dr. Druid; Namor the Sub-Mariner; Black Knight [Dane Whitman]; She-Hulk; Captain Marvel; and Thor, with a huge head image of a mutated monster-looking Marrina! The entire AVENGERS group as well as the nicely drawn action lines all around the cover were all drawn on the board. Because the Marrina image is a ghostly background image on the comic book, to get this effect, the Marrina head was drawn on Acetate overlays to get the correct effect to produce the cover.
