Nothing exclaims "Silver Age DC" quite like a LARGE ART Batman battle splash.... "Pow! Batman knocks out a gun-toting crook in this dynamic Silver Age title splash (which looks VERY similar to the published cover) drawn by the great Sheldon Moldoff, with inks by Joe Giella. Good Batman art from this period is scarce on the art market, and this twice-up Splash page makes it both all the more desirable, and all the more rare. The villain on this page is Mr. ESPer, a crooked mentalist who would go on to become a costumed bad guy taking on the moniker, "Captain Calamity." This issue marks his very first appearance, lending this art added significance. Though the art for this issue is credited to Bob Kane in the published comic, the pencil work was drawn by Shelly Moldoff!
