Check out this very nice 2009 IRON MAN battle cover, which was penciled by the great Adi Granov, and inked by the great , from the story titled: "Namora's Sea-Nopsis" This nice cover features Captain America taking on three members of the Agents of Atlas: Gorilla-Man, Human Robot and Namora! Agents of Atlas is a team composed of characters originally appearing in unrelated stories published by Marvel in the 1950's under the Atlas Comics banner. The characters debuted as a team in 1978's What If? #9 and began appearing in current Marvel continuity with the 2006 limited series, Agents of Atlas. You likely already know that Captain America first appeared in 1941's Captain America Comics #1 and is one of the most famous and beloved characters in popular culture. What you might not have known is that Gorilla-Man is a character that first appeared in 1954's Men's Adventures #26. Ken Hale was a soldier of fortune risking his life for thrills, but he had a fear of death when an encounter with a magical gorilla led to him becoming the immortal Gorilla-Man. Human Robot first appeared in 1954's Menace #11 (drawn by the iconic JOHN ROMITA). He was given a second name, M-11, when he was revived to join Agents of Atlas. Namora is the cousin of Namor, the Sub-Mariner. She first appeared in 1947's Marvel Mystery #82. Namora was featured in three issues of her own Timely series in 1948 and continued to appear in her cousin's stories in the late 40's and 50's. During the Marvel Age, Namora was not revived until 1971's Sub-Mariner #33 and then she was killed off not long after. Namora was brought back to life to star in this Agents of Atlas!
