Check out the STUNNING detail on this 1970 SPLASH, which was penciled and inked by the great BERNIE WRIGHTSON! This splash was slated for a 1970 horror story from the famous horror book: The Abyss #1, but it was never published! This GORY looking splash was from the story titled: "Here's Another Fine JAM You've Gotten Me Into....." This nice SPLASH features an "UNCLE CREEPY" looking character spreading his PRESERVES on his partially eaten bread...Only this time, The JAM has tiny naked people mixed in with it, including a naked woman falling off the bread onto the table! Just a great opportunity here to own a NICE splash, which has beautiful Zipatone added for a great effect! No cartoonist can capture the essence of horror quite like Wrightson, and this page would be considered by many fans as the "perfect" Wrightson piece! This is among the finest Swamp Thing examples you will find by the Master of the Macabre! From his groundbreaking work on Swamp Thing, into the "Studio" era with colleagues Barry Windsor Smith, Michael Kaluta, and Jeff Jones, and onto mainstream visibility in the 1980's with projects like Cycle of the Werewolf and Creepshow, Wrightson's accomplishments and influence has been as broad as any artist emerging from the realm of comic art. His work in comics and illustration art is in a class by itself among collectors and fans of the medium.ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website! Just send us an email to and we can try to work something out.
