Frank Frazetta's career in comic books was flourishing when he produced this beautiful 1953 art for the White Indian series. He had worked in the industry since the middle 1940's, but it was during the first half of the 1950's that he truly found his voice. This dynamic page not only afforded Frazetta the opportunity to show off his talents for fluid figuration, but the close-up in the second panel is nothing short of extraordinary in its execution. Frazetta's reputation and importance to illustration art needs little exposition, nor does the level of demand for quality pieces. It should suffice to say that Frazetta's influence on other comic book artists borders on immeasurable, and Frazetta originals are among the most sought after pieces in the field of comic art and fantasy illustration. Considering his long career, Frazetta's time in the comic book industry was relatively brief, with the artist moving into more mainstream illustration art in the 1960's. Even during the height of his output in the 1950's, Frazetta was never "prolific" in comic book art compared to many of his contemporaries, so opportunities at pieces like this are pretty uncommon. With so few finished works coming on the market, and considering the ever increasing demand, it is no surprise that the market values of works like this one have skyrocketed in recent years. This large, twice up art has an image area of approximately 13" x 18". Just a nice page! ALL art on our website (including this one) are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payments, and trades are always considered towards "ANY" art on our website!
