Bruce Timm's tips of the hat to The King (Jack Kirby) are always great fun. John Morrow of TwoMorrows says that this lovely pin-up was inked from a pencil drawing Jack Kirby did for a private sketchbook for his wife Roz. "Pure Imagination" published a limited hardcover edition called Jack Kirby's Heroes & Villains, and a softcover Black Magic Edition, which included this illustration. Approximately a hundred top artists were recruited to embellish Jack's pencils for the latter. According to John, all contributions for the second book were rendered by light-box. Not to put too fine a point on it, but this is Bruce Timm "after" Kirby, though it doesn't say so. This great pinup measures 8.5 by 11 inches, and was reprinted in The Jack Kirby Collector #21 to accompany Bruce's interview
