Check out this incredibly detailed, incredibly Large oversized 1955 horror page! This a E.C. story from Terror Illustrated #2 is titled "Reflection of Death" which was adapted from the original story in TALES FROM THE CRYPT #23! George Evans penciled, inked and actually used CHARCOAL for a very neat eerie effect on this page! He had an understated quality that was tailor-made for EC's crime and horror tales. These yarns often built from a quiet suburban reality to their grisly, cold-blooded "twist endings!" In this page from "Reflection of Death," Evans' points of view, lighting schemes, and detailed backgrounds set the stage for this chilling "Picto-Fiction" yelp-yarn. Evans had an illustrational cartooning style and his attention to detail and accuracy gave each of his stories an engrossing verisimilitude. This thriller showcases him at the top of his form. The image area of this page is approximately 16.5" x 22" on a much larger art board. Just a great 1950s EC Horror page!
