Reed Crandall's detailed pen and ink work was ideally suited for this Pirate genre. Crandall's control over the cross hatching used to create lighting effects and textures ranks him among the masters of the pen, alongside the giants of illustration, J. C. Coll, Franklin Booth, and Howard Pyle. This page is from an unidentified issue of Quality Comics Buccaneers title, and has a nice LARGE ART image area of 13" x 18, and the art is in Excellent condition.
