One of the most renowned artists to EVER illustrate the pages of EC Comics, Wally Wood's spectacular Science Fiction and outer space scenes are the highest on the want-list of his many fan-addicts. Wally Wood always came through with a precisionist attention to detail that few cartoonists, if any, could match. This large Science Fiction SPLASH page is from the COVER story titled: "Fall Guy!" This SPLASH features a hysterical man getting ready to jump off a building to commit suicide! The art is in good condition, with beautiful Craftint boards placed into the big left panel and lower right panels for a great tone effect, as Wood even used CHARCOAL on the left semi-SPLASH panel for a great visual effect! Art is signed: "WOOD" at the bottom left lower panel, so everyone knew he penciled and inked this Sci-Fi masterpiece! The Weird Science #16 cover by Wally Wood sold back in May of 2008 for $200,000.00! To say this one should not be passed up is a great understatement! In this story this splash is to, A hotel clerk steals one hundred thousand dollars from a diamond merchant and rents a safe deposit box years in advance under the name 'Brad Gilbert'. After serving ten years for the theft, he meets up with the girl who promised to wait for him because she wants the money. When he goes to open the box, he finds he's drawing a blank on the name he used. They go to a bar and she berates his inability to recall the name. His temper flares and he slashes her face with a steak knife. He heads to the roof as the police close in on him and threatens to jump. The police come closer and he goes over the side, clutching at letters of the sign 'Bar and Grill Beer on Tap' as he plummets. As he lies dying on the pavement, he sees the remaining neon letters spell out 'Brad Gilbert'.ALL HIGH end pieces of art, including this one, are able to be purchased with VERY fair time payment plan options, and trades are always considered towards this and any other pieces of art on our website!
